The University of Waterloo's Studies in Islam program has begun. We have been working with lovely young people who want to know about Islam: Muslim and non-Muslim, male and female, from across the academic disciplines of the campus. During the winter term we have had 89 students learning Arabic. We are celebrating with this concert.

This concert is important for a number of reasons. We believe that the arts and their ways of expression are an important way to bring people together across cultures. We also respect Dawud Wharnsby, who has chosen to live his life as a Muslim and an artist, touring the world in concerts to help build bridges.

This is a homecoming concert for Dawud who grew up in Kitchener-Waterloo, although he now lives in Pakistan when he is not on the concert tour. Please help us invite a wide audience to be with Dawud on April 1.
