Bin Laden and Zawarhiri dead? When? How?

When NDP deputy leader Thomas Mulcair questioned the existence of photographs of Osama bin Laden's body in the days after President Obama announced to the world that American Special Forces had killed him, American and Canadian news outlets pilloried him, calling him a conspiracy theorist.

Moreover, Canadian politicians Chris Alexander, Marc Garneau and even fellow NDP MP Paul Dewar jumped on the bandwagon, with Mr. Dewar finding it necessary to distance his party from Mr. Mulcair's comments.

A statement from NDP Foreign Affairs critic Paul Dewar said the party fully believed Obama’s version of events.

“We have no reason to doubt the veracity of President Obama’s statement,” said Mr. Dewar. “As (NDP leader) Jack Layton said the other day, we are happy the U.S. tracked down Osama bin Laden.”

It is shocking that the public discourse in Canada has become so restricted that a publicly elected official can't question U.S. government claims without losing his credibility and severely tarnishing that of his party, especially when the U.S. government has produced no evidence to support its claims.

In totalitarian regimes dissenters are rounded up and tortured or killed, with the lucky ones being sent to “re-education” camps; but as Mr. Mulcair's case indicates, in an advanced country like Canada that's not necessary. At risk of losing his professional credibility and thus perhaps his career, Mr. Mulcair fudged his remarks and added that he never doubted American forces had killed bin Laden nor that the U.S. had photographs proving bin Laden was dead.  Like most others in public life in Canada, Mr. Mulcair feels it expedient to be blindly subservient to the U.S. government.

Now, a formerly high-ranking U.S. government official is claiming that the story of Osama bin Laden's death on May 2 is a hoax.  On May 3, 2011, Dr. Steve R. Pieczenik - who still works with the Defense Department and was Deputy Assistant Secretary of State and/or Senior Policy Planner under Secretaries Henry Kissinger, Cyrus Vance, George Schultz and James Baker, - told The Alex Jones Show that Osama Bin Laden died in 2001 and that he was prepared to testify in front of a grand jury how a top general told him directly that 9/11 was a false flag inside job. Because Dr. Pieczenik's record shows that he is one of the most deeply connected men in U.S. intelligence circles over the past three decades plus, he can hardly be dismissed as a conspiracy theorist.

Moreover, in April 2002, over nine years ago, Dr. Pieczenik told the Alex Jones Show that Bin Laden had already been “dead for months,” and that the government was waiting for the most politically expedient time to roll out his corpse. Dr. Pieczenik personally met Bin Laden and worked with him during the proxy war against the Soviets in Afghanistan back in the early 80′s.

Dr. Pieczenik said that Osama Bin Laden died of Marfan Syndrome in 2001. Marfan Syndrome is a degenerative genetic disease for which there is no permanent cure. The illness severely shortens the life span of the sufferer.

“As a physician I had known that the CIA physicians had treated him and it was on the intelligence roster,” Dr. Pieczenik said, adding that the US government knew Bin Laden was dead before they invaded Afghanistan.

He noted that CIA physicians had visited Bin Laden in July 2001 at the American Hospital in Dubai.

The  Nov. 1, 2001 edition of the UK newspaper The Guardian  reported that two months before September 11 Osama bin Laden flew to Dubai for 10 days for treatment at the American hospital, where he was visited by the local CIA agent, according to the French newspaper Le Figaro.

The Guardian article said the disclosures were known to have come from French intelligence which was keen to reveal the ambiguous role of the CIA, and to restrain Washington from extending the war to Iraq and elsewhere.

Bin Laden is reported to have arrived in Dubai on July 4 from Quetta in Pakistan with his own personal doctor, nurse and four bodyguards, to be treated in the urology department. While there he was visited by several members of his family and Saudi personalities, and the CIA.

The CIA chief was seen in the lift, on his way to see Bin Laden, and later, it is alleged, boasted to friends about his contact. He was recalled to Washington soon afterwards.

Intelligence sources say that another CIA agent was also present; and that Bin Laden was also visited by Prince Turki al Faisal, then head of Saudi intelligence, who had long had links with the Taliban, and Bin Laden. Soon afterwards Prince Turki resigned.

“He was already very sick from Marfan Syndrome and he was already dying, so nobody had to kill him,” added Dr. Pieczenik, stating that Bin Laden died shortly after 9/11 in his Tora Bora cave complex.

“Did the intelligence community or the CIA doctor up this situation, the answer is yes, categorically yes,” said Dr. Pieczenik, referring to the May 2 claim that Bin Laden was killed at his compound in Pakistan, adding, “This whole scenario where you see a bunch of people sitting there looking at a screen and they look as if they’re intense, that’s nonsense,” referring to the images released by the White House which claim to  show Biden, Obama and Hillary Clinton watching the operation to kill Bin Laden live on a television screen.

“This is orchestrated, I mean when you have people sitting around and watching a sitcom, basically the operations center of the White House, and you have a president coming out almost zombie-like telling you they just killed Osama Bin Laden who was already dead nine years ago,” said Dr. Pieczenik, calling the episode, “the greatest falsehood I’ve ever heard, I mean it was absurd.”

Dr. Pieczenik explained that he was not a liberal, a conservative or a tea party member, merely an American who is deeply concerned about the direction in which his country is heading.

As with all of these issues, none of us were eye-witnesses, so we can only take the information available to us and use it to draw our own conclusions.  Listening to Dr. Pieczenik's version of events, whether one chooses to believe him or not, one has to wonder why so many people are so willing to believe the U.S. government's version of events, without any corroborating evidence whatsoever.

It' s convenient that bin Laden was “killed” a couple of months before American troops will be withdrawing from Afghanistan, at a time when President Obama's approval ratings were low, as a result of having shown himself to be totally inept at managing the economy and American's relations in the world.

On June 8, about five weeks after the reporting of Bin Laden's death, the BBC published a statement from Ayman al-Zawahiri, al-Qaeda's number two, warning that Osama Bin Laden will continue to "terrify" the US from beyond the grave.

Most of al-Zawahiri's statement consists of a eulogy to Bin Laden.

“The seikh has departed, may God have mercy on him, to his God as a martyr and we must continue on his path of jihad to expel the invaders from the land of Muslims and to purify it from injustice, al -Zawahiri said.

"Today, and thanks be to God, America is not facing an individual or a group, but a rebelling nation, which has awoken from its sleep in a jihadist renaissance."

These kind of statements reinforce the case against al-Zawarhiri in the court of public opinion, portraying him as continuing to be an imminent threat who must be liquidated as soon as possible.

It would certainly be an added boost to Obama's election chances if al-Zawarhiri could be “found and killed” immediately before the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
