Hope and unity around the world

Muslim-Christian Summit Addresses Lebanese Unity

Lebanese Muslim and Christian leaders came together for unity at an event in Bkriki Saturday.

“We reject discrimination and strife, and stress the main Lebanese decision to remain together in an entity that is their final homeland, independent and united,” a statement from the participants read.

The group expressed the need for dialogue, and to separate social and political issues.

They also recognized the Syrian struggle, and expressed grief for the Syrian “martyrs.”

Muslim, Christian Youth Show Unity In Nigeria

Muslim and Christian youth came together in Kaduna in an effort to facilitate peace in Nigeria.

Continuing ethnic and religious violence has concerned Christians and Muslims alike. The Youth Wing of Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Northern Youth Muslim Forum came together to show others peace is possible.

“Any genuine initiative aimed at promoting peaceful co-existence, mutual trust and confidence by both religions should be supported and encouraged by all concerned stakeholders,” president of the CAN youth wing Diji Obadiah said.

“Love is the key and even when you are down, you will still need it to prosper. The more you plan for progress, definitely, the more some obstacles will come your way. But I believe we will conquer those evils that do not wish us well,” he said.
